Many families do not have access to local family-based treatment or appropriate evidence-based, family-centered care. For this reason, I offer 1-day, 2-day, 3-day, 4-day, and 5-day consultations to families who live in other geographic areas. One-day consultations typically involve 4-5 hours of meetings with me on a single day. For multi-day consultations, families travel to Coral Gables, spend the night in a local hotel, and meet with me at my office for 2-3 hours per day for two or more consecutive days. Family consultations typically involve a thorough evaluation of the patient and family followed by treatment planning. For longer consultations, individual and/or family sessions may be included as well. At the conclusion of a family consultation, the family receives a written evaluation and a written treatment plan. Treatment plans may include individual and family interventions to be applied within the home and recommendations for accessing local resources.
